Literature seminar series with thematic discussions on chapters from: How Learning Works – Seven Research-Based Principles for Smart Teaching
Chapter 7 How Do Students Become Self-Directed Learners?
On this year's literature seminars, we read and discuss the chapter of the book ""How Learning Works: Seven Research-Based Principles for Smart Teaching"" av Ambrose, Bridges, DiPietro, Lovett, och Norman (se https://firstliteracy.org/wp-content/uploads/2015/07/How-Learning-Works.pdf).
The chapters are independent, so you can follow the whole series or come and discuss individual chapters. We end in June by a summary of the whole seminar series.
In an accessible way, the book describes tools, principles and research base for learning, and can be seen as an independent progression from the course in Student-active learning. You do not need prior experience/knowledge of subject didactics, but for those interested we will provide opportunities to go beyond the book through other articles.
If you wish to have a salad (for which you will have to pay some tax - “förmånsbeskattad”) please send an e-mail to Pia Westerlund email@example.com at the latest on Wednesday 29 April. Don´t forget to include any dietary requirements.
The following seminars are on Mondays 12:15 - 13:00 in 6K1113 at Ångström
