Seminar: Objective measurement of physical activity types, sedentary behaviour and sleep using thigh mounted accelerometers

Pasan Hettiarachchi is an experimental physicist by education and now works as a postdoctoral researcher at occupational and environmental medicine. He is the main developer of the ActiPASS software which analyses thigh-accelerometer in the SCAPIS project. In this talk he will give an overview of the method and discuss potentials of how it can be used both in large cohorts and clinical research to objectively measure sedentary behaviour, physical activity types and sleep.
