In this seminar, Stefania Barca will talk about her work on labour movements as historical agents of environmental regulation and potential climate change leaders. This presentation will be a starting point for broad discussions among the seminar participants.

In this seminar, we will discuss research on agents of change for climate change mitigation and adaptation as well as sustainability in a broad sense. The current Zennström Professor Stefania Barca will talk about her work on labour movements as historical agents of environmental regulation and potential climate change leaders. She will present her book that she is writing, called ”Workers of the Earth. Labour, ecology and reproduction in the age of climate change” (publication planned for 2022). Stefania Barca's presentation will be a starting point for broad discussions. Change can come from many different sources: from student protests to multinational corporations, and from local voluntary groups to the United Nations. This seminar will be an opportunity to discuss and reflect on who we think key 'change agents' are in our respective fields, why we should engage with them in research, and how it can be done. The goal is to learn from each other and possibly identify joint research interests and questions to pursue in the future. This seminar will be an opportunity to discuss and connect.
