Research Seminar - Natural Hazards Day

How is the ongoing volcanic eruption in La Palma connected with the most recent flooding event in Germany?

The Centre of Natural Hazards and Disaster Science (CNDS) will host a research seminar trying to answer the question - "How is the ongoing volcanic eruption in La Palma connected with the most recent flooding event in Germany?"

Abigail Barker, researcher at the Department of Earth Sciences and Gabriele Messori, senior lecturer at the same department are the invited speakers, each addressing one of the aforementioned natural hazards, respectively.

In addition, Steffi Burchardt, senior lecturer within the same department, will moderate a debate aimed at finding answers at the umbrella question of the seminar from different perspectives, such as forecasting, preparedness, evacuation, lesson learned for DRR, etc.
