A hands-on workshop on screencasting.
Recording short lectures that can be uploaded online can be a useful and effective way to help students prepare before class, revise challenging topics and assumed prior knowledge, or as part of blended or distance learning teaching methods. But how can I make and edit these videos easily, in a way that helps student learn?
During this hands-on workshop you will learn to make and edit short video clips on your own computer using screencast software. Simply bring presentation material that you would like to use! We will also discuss good practices and common pitfalls to think about when making these videos and how to integrate them in your teaching.
Note: please bring your own laptop and a presentation to work with. It's also a good idea to bring a headset with a microphone (headphones with microphones for mobiles work fine as well).
