I detta seminarium kommer vi att diskutera utmaningarna inom klimatstyrning och tillgång till vatten genom ett fallstudieområdet i Turkana County i Kenya.

Communities living in the Arid and Semi-Arid Lands (ASALs) of Kenya largely depend on groundwater for domestic and livestock purposes. Availability and access to groundwater are becoming increasingly challenging in the region because of protracted droughts. The lack of general state of resilience in the communities and the existing governance challenges further aggravates the situation. In this seminar, Shilpa Asokan will discuss the challenges in climate governance and access to water in the case study area in Turkana County in Kenya.

The seminar will be held at the Old Observatory in Uppsala and on Zoom for those of you who can’t be here. Please register by replying to this mail before May 17!

Feel free to spread the invitation to colleagues that you think might be interested. Warmly welcome!
